January 2024 Training Updates

GENERAL:

When attending CSAT classes in the future, please have:

  • Electronic Ears

  • Tourniquet

  • Thumb drive

The reasoning behind the Electronic Ears is simple. We want you to hear range commands on the line and during scenarios.  Input can be made without shouting.

As for Tourniquets, I watch many a person who has one on their gear not use it as they don’t want to remove it from the pouch or the plastic.  If your tourniquet is so fragile that it cannot be used for training, you need to buy a different one.  You should have training tourniquets as well.  If you need one, the Pro Shop will happily sell you one.

Finally, bring a thumb drive as it has never been easier and cheaper to collect class information and handouts than at this time in history.

THE CSAT WAY ON FACEBOOK, PATREON AND YOUTUBE

It looks like the CSAT YouTube page is taking off.  It is time to educate the non-believers.

We continue working on new video content for the Patreon Operator and Patreon Instructor. We currently have 227 videos on the site.

You can visit “The CSAT Way” on Facebook for video updates.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I am still clawing my way out of 2023 and look forward to 2024.

OUR COUNTRY AND REPRESENTATIVES

We have a mess in all directions we look. Overseas and internally.  What causes this? The finger can be pointed at one political party and its goal of totalitarian leadership instead of a government by the people.

They have weaponized the Federal Government and many federal agencies. So much so that the American people have lost faith and trust. This ranges from the COVID debacle to fake insurrection enabled and hosted by certain federal agencies and capital law enforcement to the current wars we enable and promote.

The Democrat party is the “openly pervert” party.  Affirmative action is their mantra.  Affirmative action has spiraled us into a nosedive of ignorance.

  • Unqualified people in management or leadership positions that confirm they are the waste of a good fornication.

  • More genders than sanity allows.

  • A party of crooks that allow their own to have double standards.

  • A party that promotes women’s rights, especially if you have a penis.

  • A party that promotes gender destruction in children.

I am looking forward to the Epstein drop. I know there will be quite a few Republicans on that list as well.

I believe that convicted child molesters should be castrated on the first offense.

  • Executed on the second.

  • Third-time offenders will go down abruptly.

TCOLE

I sent my paperwork into TCOLE and received my Firearms Instructor Proficiency and Basic Instructor Proficiency Certificate.

I will give LEOs copies when they attend a CSAT class.

TEXAS FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR (2222) AND PATROL RIFLE INSTRUCTOR

We just finished our combined course, and it went well.  Long days and great instructor students.  All passed the State and CSAT standards.

The instructors did well and passed the knowledge on to the two-day class students, both civilian and law enforcement.

If your agency wants to send officers to the course in the future, we can build a class around your base.

The next scheduled course is 6-11 Feb and 5-10 March 2024.

Certificates you can receive:

  • CSAT Master Instructor Certificate 72 hours

  • Texas Firearms Instructor 2222 42 Hours

  • Patrol Rifle Instructor 30 Hours

Ensure you review and practice the state qualification requirements for day one. Only two attempts are given for the pistol and shotgun qualification.

EQUIPMENT

My Pimp Stick and Me….

A friend from Houston brought his team up for a day shoot in Dec.  One of the team members had won a rifle at a raffle. He will not be harassed.

The ”Pimp Stick” he won is pictured below. I was without words when I saw it attached to his body. I have never seen a skeletonized weapon before.

I ensured they had what they needed before I left the range, and they started firing, especially an aid bag.

From the armorer:

When you go Form over Function:

Here are some pics of the Mardi Gras Rifle from our trip there before Christmas.

It is an F1, brand new, and almost made it through an entire magazine before failure.

The bolt was stuck halfway back. The initial diagnosis was that the gas key on the bolt carrier had come loose, but upon disassembly (via taking the buttstock and buffer tube off), the cause was found.  Instead of the traditional buffer retention system using a spring and a detent held down by the buffer tube, this system uses a buffer retention screw (see photo below). The screw had no lock tight and had worked its way up and bent….jamming the bolt carrier.

The replacement part from an F1 distributor costs $1, and the shipping and handling costs $12.50.

In Ben’s defense, he did not buy the rifle; he won a raffle at his kid’s school.  He is currently deciding what real rifle he will buy.

I put the above rifle into the “High Art” category of life.  Like a high-art knife, it is useless for the field.  While visually appealing, it is an accident waiting to happen.

Finally, a friend once told me, “If it has an adjustment, it can come out of adjustment.”  Another weak link was created in the platform.
