July 2023 Training Update

GENERAL:

NEW FOR 2023

When attending CSAT classes in the future, please have:

• Electronic Ears

• Tourniquet

• Thumb drive

The reasoning behind the Electronic Ears is simple. We want you to hear range commands on the line and during scenarios. Input can be made without shouting.

As for Tourniquets, I watch many a person who have one on their gear, not use it as they don’t want to remove it from the pouch or the plastic. If your tourniquet, is so fragile that it cannot be used for training, you need to buy a different one. You should have training tourniquets as well. If you need one, the Pro Shop will be happy to sell you one.

Finally, bring a thumb drive as it has never been easier and cheaper to collect class information and handouts than at this time in history.

THE CSAT WAY ON FACEBOOK AND PATREON

We continue to work on new video content for both the Patreon Operator and Patreon Instructor. As of 1 Jan 2022, we had 170 videos on the site.

LE CORNER

We have put together a “Small Unit Tactics” course for agencies that do not have access to a full Tactical Team. The first class will run in October and will be four days in length. It will cover both overt tactical scenarios and covert tactical scenarios to accomplish todays Law Enforcement missions. See the website for a flyer.

JUNE/JULY

We try and take off a little more in the summer due to the heat and mowing, but we are finding we generally work every week due to Guardian and special class requests. August is looking light and we look forward to the break.

If not teaching, we are mowing and spraying.

WORLD

Some days I think I am watching the Jerry Springer Show. Interesting times to say the least.

• Russia: When you must rely on private armies to fight, your people do not believe in your mission. They can also turn on you.

• U.S.A.: Corruption within the DOJ and the President/Son, front and center.

• Corporate Heads: Making downright dumb business decisions putting their employees at risk.

Democrats have become too tolerant, and they are scraping the bottom of the barrel with their drag show agendas. At any other time in our history, it would be considered solicitation of minors and people would be jailed.

What a shitshow is all I can say…

HUNTING

I was bush hogging sniper hill the day before and a big black pig came out and stayed about 75 yards ahead of my tractor and all I had was my pistol, so I declined the shot.

I went out about 0930 the next morning, about the same time I saw it the day before and jumped this one at about the 850 yard mark. I was standing, about 125-150 yards away and held the top of her back with my .308 bolt gun and the bullet dropped to its mark, slightly behind the ear and it anchored her. Two more ran from behind the 800 berm to the brush when I ma the shot. I was using 168 grain AMAX.

The device on the end is a Yankee Hill blast diverter and works well.

The above picture is my “Africa” pose for Dan. He wants me to go to Africa with him, but I have Africa right here in East Texas…. And Africa Hot as well…

You can hold off or dial in when hunting and I will generally hold off when moving on foot to make a faster shot. I will dial in if I am lying up in a static position and have the time. If you are interested, we go over this stuff in our Long-Range Hunter class.
